Comcast Announces CAA Football Slate

logo_newfootball.gifThe Colonial Athletic Association will kick off a 36-game TV college football slate, with 21 contests scheduled for Comcast-owned regional networks. The nation’s largest Football Championship Subdivision schedule will feature 12 games on CN8, The Comcast Network throughout its Maine to Virginia footprint, as well as nine contests on regional sports networks Comcast SportsNet New England and Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic. Scheduling permitting, other CAA gridiron matchups could appear on Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia and CSS.

Dukes Win CAA Championship

(May 24, 2008) – Behind a complete-game, 4-hitter from junior right-hander Kurt Houck, second-seeded James Madison defeated #6 Towson 6-1 in the title game of the CAA Baseball Championship Saturday afternoon at Brooks Field. It was the first championship in the 23-year history of CAA baseball for the Dukes, who had reached the finals on five previous occasions. JMU will make its seventh appearance in the NCAA Baseball Championship as the recipient of the conference’s automatic bid.

James Madsion and Towson Advance to Finals

baseball-tow-furmanek.jpgSecond-seeded James Madison advanced to the finals of the CAA Baseball Championship for the first time since 2002 after a stunning 18-14 comeback victory over #3 George Mason Friday night at Brooks Field. Sixth-seeded Towson cracked five home runs and used a six-run knockout punch in the fifth inning to eliminate fourth-seeded William & Mary, 16-7, and advance to the final day of the 2008 Colonial Athletic Association Baseball Championship

Baseball: CAA Tournament - Day 2

CAA TournamentThe second day of the CAA Tournament is complete, and saw the #1 seed lose and the #2 seed move on undefeated for the tourney. Action resumes Friday at noon, with UNCW facing George Mason in an elimination game, William and Mary will face Towson at 3pm with the loser going home, and James Madison awaits to play the winner of the UNCW and GMU matchup for the right to play in the Championship game.
